A 47-year-old Random Lake man told police he was robbed while checking his tires on College Avenue in Oak Creek.
According to a police report, the man pulled over in the 2500 block of W. College Avenue late Sunday night after hearing a squeak in his tires. Someone approached him from behind and said, "Give me your wallet. I have a gun."
A struggle ensued and the 47-year-old's wallet fell to the ground, according to the report. The suspect took the wallet and was picked up in blue four-door vehicle.
The victim said he followed the man on Interstate 94 before losing him near Martin Luther King Drive in Milwaukee.
Police, however, said there was a one-hour discrepancy between the time of the incident and the time of the call, as well as other items that didn't match up, according to the department logbook.
Police are still investigating.
The man described the suspect as a Hispanic male, about 5-foot-7, dark hair, a little facial hair and wearing a light-blue quilted jacket, blue jeans and dirty white tennis shoes.
The vehicle's license plate listed to a Big Bend resident.
The victim was uninjured. His wallet contained $120 and identification and other cards.
