Man Selling iPhone Via Craigslist Robbed in O.C.

A 24-year-old Milwaukee man arranged to meet a person to sell two iPhones, but fled after three people, one of whom carried a club, approached him.

A 24-year-old Milwaukee man trying to sell two iPhones through Craigslist was robbed by three people Friday night in Oak Creek.

According to an Oak Creek police report, a man contacted the 24-year-old saying he wanted to buy the phones and they arranged to meet in a dark entrance at the Hy-View Mobile Home Park, in the 2100 block of W. College Ave.

About 8:45 p.m. Friday, they started talking about the phones when three unknown males, one of whom had a club in his hand, approached the victim. One of the men said, "I'm going to get you (expletive)," and the 24-year-old fled in his vehicle, according to the report.

While fleeing, the man called the person to whom he was selling the phones and asked for an explanation. The person replied, "we will get you."

Milwaukee police told an Oak Creek officer that a similar incident happened in the same area, with the same suspects and vehicle involved in a robbery of iPhones.

The suspect in that case stole a brown coat from the victim and then wore the coat in the Oak Creek robbery, according to the police report.

Police are still investigating.
