Medical Incident May Have Preceeded Crash

84-year-old taken to hospital after accident at Howell and Ryan.

No one was seriously hurt in a two-car accident Friday at the intersection of Ryan Road and Howell Avenue.

According to an Oak Creek police report, a vehicle driven by an 84-year-old man was eastbound on Ryan Road when it struck a sign in the median, hit a vehicle stopped at a red light and struck a sign at the Marathon gas station.

A witness to the accident and the driver of the second vehicle, a 37-year-old woman, told police that it did not appear anyone was driving the car, indicating a possible medical incident prior to the accident, according to the report.

Police said the 84-year-old, who appeared confused and sweating profusely, was taken to the hospital.

The woman involved in the accident initially said she could not feel her legs and that her left arm was sore, but she declined an ambulance.

Both vehicles were severely damaged.
