Resident Taken to Hospital After Mobile Home Fire

A fire broke out in a mobile home park on W. College Avenue about noon Monday.

A fire broke out about noon Monday and caused major damage to a mobile home on W. College Avenue in Oak Creek.

A resident of the home was taken by ambulance to the hospital, but it was not considered serious and may be only for observation, Battalion Chief Joe Pulvermacher said.

The Oak Creek Fire Department is still investigating the cause of the fire, which happened in the Oak Creek Estates mobile home park in the 2300 block of W. College Ave.

Pulvermacher said the damage was "significant" and is estimated at about $20,000.

Fire departments from around the South Shore and Franklin assisted Oak Creek in battling the fire.
