Oak Creek Business Suffers Heavy Losses In Burglary

are investigating a weekend burglary at Hein Electric Supply Co., 6970 S. 13th St.

According to a police report, an officer on patrol early Monday morning noticed the business' back garage appeared to have been backed into and a service door next to it was unsecured.

Police and a representative of a business later discovered that someone stole about $5,400 worth of coated copper wire, a drill kit valued at $175 and $254 in cash, according to the police report.

Damage to the garage door was estimated at $5,000.

Hein Electric Supply does not have any surveillance cameras, so police were looking into whether any neighboring businesses had recordings or any other information about the incident, according to the report.

The break-in happened sometime between 7 p.m. Friday and 3 a.m. Monday.
