Oak Creek Company Finds Massive Child Porn Stash on Man's Computer

A computer brought into DK Systems had 25 gigabytes worth of child pornography on it, according to a criminal complaint. The computer's owner, a 61-year-old man, now faces 20 felony charges.

A 61-year-old Town of Norway man who brought his computer into an Oak Creek company for repairs is now facing 20 felony charges after the company discovered numerous images of child pornography.

Marcel R. Troutwein was charged in Racine County Circuit Court Wednesday with 20 counts of possession of child pornography. The charges carry a combined maximum sentence of 500 years in prison and $2 million in fines.

According to the criminal complaint:

Troutwein took his computer to DK Systems, 9555 S. Howell Ave., on July 5 to have work done on it and transfer files to a new computer. Employees called the Oak Creek Police Department after finding child pornography images on the computer. Oak Creek police then contacted the Racine County Sheriff’s Department.

Roughly 35 gigabytes worth of child pornography was on the computer, which included 1,590 images and 211 videos.

Troutwein told investigators he downloaded child pornography to his computer via torrents more than 500 times over a five to six year period. Several days before he took his computer in for service, his system crashed while he was downloading a child porn torrent, Troutwein said.

Troutwein said none of the files were "homemade" and he only downloaded the images out of curiosity. He added that he didn't agree with everything he saw, saying some of the children were pretty young in the files.

He's currently free on a $75,000 signature bond while awaiting trial.

Law enforcement needs to find and fry those that made it, while locking up this creep that creates a market for it.

Is this guy a parent or grandparent? Thats the think I cannot understand... much as I do not understand any interest in seeing children involved in sexual situations in general, but especially cannot understand it from anyone anyone who has ever been a caring loving parent of a child... can you imagine your kids being subjected to that stuff? Why wouldnt you feel the same way about anyone else's kids? It just doesnt make sense to me at all.

My question is and has been, "Why do our police departments always expose the methods used and the people who report crimes of this nature. By exposing their sources, other freaks become aware of it and avoid the same mistake. As a result of this reporting, many of those who are child porn freaks will never take their computers to DK Systems and that's sad. Can anyone tell me why law enforcement doesn't keep this stuff to themselves. It would surely result in more of these freaks being arrested and convicted according to the laws against it and probably help rid our society of this abomination.

I don't know....I mean it's not like this was a secret sting operation. Seems obvious that if you had a bunch of illegal stuff on your computer, you probably shouldn't hand it over to other people, no?

Totally sick!!! What the he!! is wrong with people? Put him in a room with a bunch of sex starved prison inmates and throw away the key. I'm just glad they caught this guy.

That is a excellent point, Wesley. I totally agree with you. Normally you would not want to expose your sources. It's a danger to the source and a warning to the perverts.

I commend DK Computer Systems, for having the courage to report this horrible crime. It just amazes me that psycho criminals like this actually think anyone would believe after 1,590 images and 211 videos, anyone would believe he was just curious. I can only pray that someone made a provision of his bail to not be able to go near any child of any age. There are no age limits to puke that exploit innocent children for their devious pleasures. I hope he rots in jail and there is no sympathy because of his age. He had no sympathy for these helpless children being exploited.

Anyone who promotes and gets pleasure from the explotation of children needs to be erradicated from our society. This individual admits to having no moral compass and zero respect for those around him, especially those with children...I think we just found our new ambassador to libya

Rudi, I agree but; the but is if law enforcement did do just that, they would be liable for what happens to him. Then you get the lawsuits and all hell breaks loose. People who live on the good side of life always have their hands tied. It's as bad as living next to a recently discovered felon whom I've known for years as one person and recently found out who he really is. However I'm glad we have that new castle doctrine law.heehee

All perverts involved in this type of activities concerning children should be CASTRATED !!!! and life in prison so the can become the big boys little girls.

State and Federal law require Police Departments to release all records other than juvenile names, even reports.

Wesley, this is true about the liable issues. I just get so frustrated every time I hear a story like this. Really, I don't know what the answer is, I'm just so glad they found another one of these sickos. Glad to know DK Computer Systems did their job. Think of the poor kids.

It's just amazing what I see happening now. Sometimes so depressing. Seems that we have lost our way morally as a nation because of our "freedom"! I guess it could be that we 're just more exposed now because of the media but it just seems that we , as a nation have never been so delusional as to the way we treat our children and women, as a society. Seeing this stuff everyday really makes me wonder how it'll be five years from now. Oh well????
rudi wendt September 14, 2012 at 05:29 PM
I would hope it has nothing to do with freedom, because I don't think man was meant to be enslaved.5, 10,20 years from now does make a person wonder. Bring back the 50s, but then again this could of been going on back then also. I wonder how long this could of been going on. Was the movie called,"Spartens", where this was an accepted practice, I think it was. unbelievable!
