Oak Creek Man Arrested for 7th OWI

David A. Van Derboom was pulled over near the airport Sunday night and had a preliminary blood-alcohol content of .15, according to the Sheriff's Office.

A 50-year-old Oak Creek man was arrested for drunken driving for the seventh time Sunday after a sheriff's deputy saw him deviating lanes on Howell Avenue.

David A. Van Derboom faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted of OWI-7th, a felony.

The deputy pulled him over about 6:15 p.m. near Mitchell International Airport. Van Derboom initially denied he had been drinking, but blew a .15 on the breathalyzer, according to a Sheriff's Office news release.

Van Derboom was previously convicted of drunken driving in June 1991, February 1993, twice in March 1993, July 1995 and October 2002.
