Oak Creek Police Bust Milwaukee Drug House

A Milwaukee couple have been charged after Oak Creek police found heroin, crack cocaine and prescription pills after executing a search warrant.

Felony drug charges have been filed against a Milwaukee couple after Oak Creek police say they found a host of narcotics while executing a search warrant on their home.

Antwan McGregor, 34, and Elizabeth Halbach, 32, were charged May 30 in Milwaukee County Circuit Court with one count of possession of narcotic drugs and one count of keeping a drug house. McGregor was also charged with possession of a firearm by a felon.

On May 28 Oak Creek police executed a search warrant on a Milwaukee home at 4325 W. Burleigh St. where McGregor and Halbach were living, according to a criminal complaint. Β

Inside the home, police found a .25 caliber handgun along with $224 in cash under a mattress, hypodermic needles filled with an unknown liquid and a metal cooker cup in a living room, a bag with five pills later determined to be Suboxone, a bag of heroin in the kitchen, three glass crack cocaine pipes and a bottle of Dormin sleeping pills, which police say is a common cutting agent to increase the weight of heroin for its sale, the court documents say.

During questioning, McGregor and Halbach told police they are addicted to heroin and the narcotics in the home were theirs, the criminal complaint says. McGregor said Halbach also likes to smoke crack cocaine occasionally. McGregor added he purchased the handgun about a month ago from a "white kid" for $50, according to the court documents. He is a felon, prohibiting him from owning or possessing a firearm.

Halbach told police, according to the criminal complaint, the two sell about one to two grams of heroin per day to support their heroin habit.

If convicted, Halbach could face up to seven years imprisonment, $20,000 in fines, or both, and McGregor could face up to 17 years imprisonment, $45,000, or both.

McGregor is in the custody of the Milwaukee County Jail, while Halbach has been released. Both are due in court on Monday.Β
