One Injured in Highway 100 Crash

A 51-year-old South Milwaukee woman lost control of her vehicle on a slick Highway 100 Sunday.

A 51-year-old South Milwaukee woman was taken to the hospital after she lost control of her vehicle and ended up about 200 feet off the roadway Sunday night, just after a patch of freezing rain hit the area.

According to an Oak Creek police report, the woman crossed over the center median in the 3000 block of E. Highway 100, left the roadway and hit a tree about 6:55 p.m. Sunday.

A 911 caller saw her vehicle in a ditch some distance from the road and told dispatchers she was pinned in her vehicle.

The woman complained of knee and chest pain and was taken by ambulance to St. Francis Hospital.

Police cited her for driving too fast for conditions. Her vehicle sustained severe damage and was towed from the scene.
