PHOTOS: Cops Support Special Olympics Fundraiser

Friday's event aimed to raise awareness for Special Olympics Wisconsin and the Law Enforcement Torch Run.

Oak Creek police officers were at Dunkin' Donuts, 2345 W. Ryan Road, on Friday helping collect donations for Special Olympics Wisconsin.

The fundraiser was held in Oak Creek and 14 other Milwaukee-area locations to benefit the Law Enforcement Torch Run, which has raised more than $19 million for Special Olympics Wisconsin over the past 25 years.

The Oak Creek building didn't allow for officers to get up on the roof like they could at other locations, such as the restaurant on Miller Park Way.

Instead, police were on the ground collecting money from customers going into the store and leaving the drive-through. Customers making a donation received a coupon for a free medium hot or iced coffee.
