Police Apprehend Escaped Wheaton Patient

A 35-year-old Franklin man said to be "intoxicated and combative" ran away from Wheaton Hospital and was eventually arrested in the parking lot of a church.

Officers searched for and eventually apprehended an "intoxicated and combative" 35-year-old Franklin man who ran away from Wheaton Franciscan Hospital Thursday night, according to a police report.Β 

Oak Creek police were called to assist Franklin officers in looking for the man about 6:25 p.m.

After a search, he was tracked to new construction near the hospital and then toward Oakwood Road and 27th Street.

The Franklin Police Department eventually found him in the parking lot of St. John's Lutheran Church, 10302 S. 27th St., and took him into custody, according to the report.

No other details were immediately available.
