Police Beefing Up Patrols on Interstate 94 Sunday

Multi-state effort comes in advance of July 4 holiday.

The Wisconsin State Patrol will team up with the Illinois State Police Sunday to intensify traffic-safety enforcement on Interstate 94.

The effort is part of Operation STARS - Speeding, Texting, Alcohol, Reckless driving and Seat-belt violations.

"Troopers will take a zero-tolerance approach to highway safety violations, like speeding, texting, drunken driving, reckless driving and not wearing safety belts," Wisconsin State Patrol Sgt. Anthony Burrell said in a news release.
