Police: Drunken Driver Had Two Kids in Car

A Franklin man stopped on I-94 near the airport had a blood-alcohol content nearly three times the legal limit to drive, according to police.

An alleged drunken driver was arrested on southbound I-94 near the airport spur Sunday with two children in the car, according to police.

Eric J. Thome, 50, of Franklin, was stopped about 6:45 p.m. after a sheriff's deputy saw his vehicle swerving all over the freeway, according to a Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office news release.

Thome, who admitted to drinking mixed drinks at a relative's home in Fond du Lac that afternoon, had a blood-alcohol content of .22, according to the news release.

Thome was previously convicted of drunken driving in 2011. He faces up to six months in jail if convicted of his second offense.
