Police Find Cocaine, Guns Inside Oak Creek Home

Man told police he held onto guns for another convicted felon.

A 27-year-old Oak Creek man is facing multiple felony charges after police executed a search warrant on his home and found drugs and guns.

Fernando Vasquez was charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court Tuesday with two counts of felon in possession of a firearm and one count of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. If convicted, he could face up to 45 years in prison and $150,000 in fines.

searched Vasquez's home, in the 10300 block of S. Chicago Road, on Jan. 20 and found two semi-automatic handguns, 17.4 grams of cocaine base and some marijuana hidden in a cigarette pack.

Vasquez told police he began selling cocaine in November and tried to hide it when he heard police at the door. He said he was holding the guns for a friend, who is also a felon.

He's currently being held in county jail on $5,000 bond.
