Police Investigate Threat to 'Shoot Up' Pick 'n Save

The Ryan Road Pick 'n Save received an anonymous threat Sunday afternoon, a day after a Bay View Pick 'n Save was similarly threatened. Police and store personnel are investigating.

An anonymous threat that the Ryan Road Pick 'n Save would be "shot up" prompted extra police patrols Sunday.

The store, 2320 W. Ryan Road, received a call Sunday afternoon from someone who said, "This is an officer, my boss told me to call you. I'm supposed to tell you that your store is going to get shot up ... listen to my directions, sit in the corner or I will kill you," according to the Oak Creek Police Department logbook.

The employee hung up the phone and contacted her manager. Police searched the store, parking lot and surrounding businesses for suspicious activity but did not find any.

Store employees called the phone number from which they received the threat, but it rang continuously with no answer.

A store security officer told police that a Bay View Pick 'n Save received a similar threat on Saturday, when it got three phone calls that sounded like a prank at first but escalated into people threatening to shoot up the store.
