Police Pursuit Ends Across From OCPD

A 47-year-old Chicago man was arrested in the parking lot of Brentwood Animal Hospital after police say he tried to purchase a television with a fraudulent check and then fled.

A suspect in an attempted fraud at American TV led Oak Creek police on a low-speed chase Wednesday that ended across the street from the police station, where he was taken into custody for forgery and fleeing police.

According to an Oak Creek police report, the 47-year-old Chicago man tried to purchase a television by writing a check that American TV employees believed was fraudulant.

The employees tried stalling while they waited for police, but the man drove away about 1:40 p.m.

An officer spotted the man's car in the 1100 block of W. Puetz Road and tried to pull it over, but the driver refused, according to the report.

A pursuit continued at low speeds until the vehicle pulled into the parking lot of Brentwood Animal Hospital, across from the police station at 318 W. Ryan Road. Officers arrested the man, who has not yet been charged, according to online court records.
