Police Respond To Several Car Break-Ins

Between Wednesday and Thursday, at least six vehicles were rummaged through.

The responded to a half-dozen reports of car break-ins between Wednesday and Thursday morning.

According to the department logbook:

Four vehicles on the south end of town were entered in the overnight hours Wednesday. Residents said their cars were rummaged through; in one instance, medication was taken.

The break-ins occurred in the 10400 block of S. Bridgewater Drive, the 1000 block of E. Meadowview Drive, the 3300 block of E. Elm Road and the 9700 block of S. Jasper Street. Residents in those areas requested extra patrols.

Two vehicles were broken into earlier Wednesday.

Sometime after 8:30 a.m., a window on a car parked outside , 8601 S. Howell Ave., was smashed and a wallet was taken. The person who took the wallet used a credit card at a South Milwaukee gas station before the card was canceled.

In the 1100 block of W. Anderson Court, someone pried out a passenger-side door lock and took a CD player and an iPod Nano between 6 a.m. and 2 p.m. Wednesday.

No suspects in any of the thefts were identified.
