On June 8, Oak Creek police officers were called to the UPS distribution facility, 6800 S. 6th St., after it was discovered a box of cell phones was stolen. The phones were supposed to be delivered to the AT&T store at 4739 S. 76th St., but the store contacted the facility and informed them the phones never arrived.

Benson admitted to taking the box of phones while working his regular shift, then tossing it over a fence by a nearby school and picking the box up after his shift was over. He said there were five phones inside the box that he sold for $500.
