The owner of the store, Jatinder Singh, said he and his uncle Dalbir Singh were about to close Harmony Food Store, 3821 W. Locust St., about 9 p.m. when he saw Williams next to Dalbir waving a handgun.

Jatinder and Dalbir both ran back inside the store and closed the door so that Williams could not get in. However, Williams fired a shot that went through the door and hit Dalbir Singh in the forehead. Dalbir Singh collapsed on the steps and was later pronounced dead by the medical examiner's office.
