Severe Beating with Brass Knuckles Lands Man in Hospital

Three men face felony charges in connection with the beating of a man at an Oak Creek apartment building on July 9, which could leave the victim with permanent vision loss.

Three men have been charged in a brazen beating that landed a man in the hospital with severe injuries.

Authorities say three men Jordan Jacobs, 17, Joshua Jacobs, 19, both of Milwaukee, and Cody Jordan, 18 of Cudahy, beat the victim, one while wearing brass knuckles, fracturing the victim's eye orbital bone and breaking his nose, because of money he owed people.

The victim could have permanent vision loss and doctors had to wait for swelling to reduce before performing surgery to prevent the victim's eyes from sinking into his head.

The victim told police he was at his friend’s Oak Creek apartment in the 8000 block of South Wildwood Drive watching TV on July 9 when he heard a knock on the door.

He looked through a peephole, but it was blocked. The men at the door began kicking the door and yelling, “open the door (expletive).” They kicked the door a few more times, then it got quiet. The men then entered through a different door, the court documents say.

Jordan was the first one through the door, the complaint says, saying “oh buddy we got you now."

The victim then took a vicious beating, according to the criminal complaint.

A witness who was with the three men but hasn't been charged told police Jordan Jacobs had a pair of brass knuckles, and threw the first punch, knocking the victim unconscious.

Then, the criminal complaint says, all three suspects continued to punch the victim in the head with their fists and later began stomping the victim's head with their feet.

At one point, the victim regained conscious and was screaming for help, the criminal complaint says.

The last thing the victim said he remembered before waking up in the hospital was being beat in the head with a metal object.

The witness told police the victim was bleeding from his face and there was blood on the walls and floor.

The witness told police the three were mad at the victim over money he owed people. Once the suspects couldn’t enter through the front door they entered through a sliding door and attacked the victim.

Under the charges, the maximum sentence is three years and six months imprisonment, or $10,000, or both. Since the three men are accused of using a deadly weapon, that sentence could be increased by up to four years.

All three suspects are currently out-of-custody, and due in court July 24 for preliminary hearings.
