Some Lost Electricity, And Patience, Tuesday Night

Woman became irate at We Energies after power was restored.

for about 1,400 We Energies customers in Oak Creek and restored about 8 p.m.

But the We Energies trucks were not gone fast enough for one woman, who called police about 11 p.m. Tuesday complaining they were blocking her driveway. 

According to police reports:

The 49-year-old woman was irate with the We Energies vehicles, which were parked in the 500 block of E. Groveland Dr.

A We Energies worker told police they were performing emergency work on the utility pole next to her driveway.

The woman was upset because she could not leave her driveway, but the workers advised it was for safety reasons due to a 20,000-volt wire being down across the driveway.

An officer tried to speak with the woman, but she refused. She cursed at the officer and went back into her residence.

The officer stood by while We Energies completed its work.

Tuesday night's power outage cut across a relatively wide area of Oak Creek - from roughly Puetz Road all the way down to an area near the southern border.
