Stolen Items Returned to Oak Creek Residents

Several cars were broken into Friday night.

A Milwaukee police officer driving into work on Saturday found a large number of credit cards and IDs lying in the roadway.

As it turned out, several of those cards belonged to Oak Creek residents, whose vehicles were broken into Friday night.

According to police reports, at least three vehicles east of Howell Avenue, and between Puetz Road and Drexel Avenue, were entered overnight Friday.

Residents lost items including debit cards, drivers licenses, a GPS, iPhone, purse and gift cards, police said. One resident had a window broken out.

Not all of those items were recovered. The cards found by the MPD officer were returned to the residents Saturday morning, according to the report.
