Stabbing Suspect Crashed Vehicle in Oak Creek

A 38-year-old man was found in some bushes near Pennsylvania Avenue after he apparently crashed his car on E. College Avenue early Saturday morning. He was arrested in connection with a stabbing in Greenfield.

Police say a 38-year-old man crashed his vehicle in Oak Creek and was "not making any sense" when he was found in some bushes near Grange and Pennsylvania avenues.

According to the logbook, officers found a minivan on E. College Avenue about 2:15 a.m. Saturday with its lights on, engine running but no driver to be found.

It appeared the van was eastbound when it struck a guard rail and then continued to the College Avenue tunnel, where it struck the wall about three times, according to the report.

Officers responded to the vehicle owner's home, in the 4500 block of W. Morgan Avenue in Greenfield, but did not get a response.

Milwaukee County sheriff's deputies found the driver, , about 5 a.m. outside the 128th Air Refueling Wing, near the corner of Pennsylvania and Grange. Officers called for paramedics, as Gish was awake and breathing but incoherent. He was taken to Aurora St. Luke's South Shore.

Oak Creek police asked Greenfield officers to check the residence again, according to the logbook. Greenfield police then found Maggie Litwicki, who had died from stab wounds.

Oak Creek police stayed with Gish at St. Luke's until Greenfield officers arrived and took him into custody.

The was expected to meet with the District Attorney's office to discuss possible criminal charges, according to Greenfield Patch.

FOX 6 is reporting a Facebook page was set up in Litwicki's honor called "For the Love of Maggie."
