Synthetic Pot Linked to Crash

Driver in accident on E. Forest Hill Ave. was reportedly flailing his arms and convulsing when police arrived late Sunday afternoon.

A 54-year-old Milwaukee man who crashed his vehicle Sunday near Marco's Pizza later admitted using synthetic marijuana and was cited for drug paraphernalia possession.

According to an Oak Creek police report, a 911 caller saw the man's vehicle veer off the roadway about 5:20 p.m. and noticed the driver having some sort of medical issue.

An officer found the vehicle in the front yard of 233 E. Forest Hill Ave. and the driver flailing his arms and convulsing. Police restrained the man until paramedics arrived, according to the report.

While en route the hospital, the man grabbed a metal pipe from his waistband and attempted to swallow it, police said. The pipe had charred residue on it that the man admitted was K2, also known as synthetic marijuana.

The officer told the man about the dangers of the drug and informed him he would be cited for possession of drug paraphernalia. He was medically cleared and left in the care of his sister-in-law.
