Fire departments from several area communities converged on the south side of Oak Creek.
The smoke and fire trucks seen on the south end of Howell Avenue today was only a fire department training exercise.
A structure on Howell Avenue just south of Oakwood Road was ablaze about noon Thursday. Fire departments from several communities were there for the drill.
A real fire occurred next door just three years ago, destroying the home of Earl Giefer. Residents may recall Giefer was at the center of an eminent domain controversy last year.
