Two Cited In Road-Rage Incidents

Apparently not everyone was in the holiday spirit.

Two people were cited in separate road-rage incidents over the weekend.

According to police reports:

The first incident happened at 3:30 p.m. Saturday near 27th and College. Two vehicles were attempting to make a left turn onto 27th Street when one intentionally sideswiped the other.Β

A 35-year-old woman was cited for reckless driving-endangering safety. Witnesses saw both drivers giving "derogatory hand gestures" to each other before the accident occurred.

Each vehicle sustained about $2,000 worth of damage.

In a different incident, a man told police he was chased by a person with a large hammer. The man said he was in line to enter the Blue Beacon Truck Wash, 9625 S. 20th St., and approached a driver to move his truck ahead.

The driver became irate and came after the man with a claw hammer. The man said he feared for his life.

The driver, a 61-year-old man, admitted to brandishing the hammer and was cited for disorderly conduct.
