Two OWI Reports Within 15 Minutes

Arrests were made early Saturday morning.

Two drivers were pulled over for drunken driving within 15 minutes early Saturday morning.

The first happened at 2 a.m. when a police officer reported a vehicle accelerating to 75 mph in a 40 mph zone. He continued at that speed eastbound on Rawson Avenue while deviating from his lane, according to a police report.

The man, a 30-year-old from South Milwaukee, was stopped in the 1800 block of E. Rawson Ave. He had red glassy eyes, slurred speech and alcohol on his breath, according to the police report.

He refused to take field sobriety tests, told the officer he was drunk and "requested to be arrested," the report said. He had a preliminary blood-alcohol content of .21., according to the report.

He was arrested for drunken driving and also cited for unreasonable and imprudent speed.

The second incident happened after an officer saw a vehicle northbound on 27th Street in the center lane, but then deviating into the right lane, correcting and deviating into the left lane.

A 31-year-old Milwaukee woman was pulled over in the 6700 block. The officer noticed noticed alcohol on her breath and glassy eyes, according to a police report. She failed field sobriety test and was arrested for drunken driving with a preliminary blood-alcohol content was .19. She was also cited for unsafe lane deviation.
