Two Hospitalized After Crash at Howell and Centennial

A driver southbound on Howell Avenue went through a red light and struck a vehicle, according to police.

Police say a driver went through a red light at Howell and Centennial Wednesday and struck a vehicle, injuring two people.

According to an report, a 21-year-old Racine man ran a red light while traveling southbound on Howell Avenue. He hit a vehicle driven by a 68-year-old South Milwaukee woman, who was eastbound on Centennial Drive.

The woman and a passenger, a 78-year-old Oak Creek woman, were taken to Aurora St. Luke's South Shore. The 68-year-old complained of neck and back pain, while her passenger had injuries to her right arm and shoulder, according to the police report.

The 21-year-old was cited for inattentive driving. His vehicle sustained extensive front-end damage, while the woman's vehicle had moderate damage on the driver's side, police said.
