Driver, Passenger Leave Scene of Crash at College Ave. Roundabout

A car drove over the roundabout at a high rate of speed early Sunday morning and was totaled. Police found a passenger lying on the grass nearby.

A speeding vehicle on College Avenue crashed into the roundabout early Sunday morning, hitting a curb, a tree and a yield sign before coming to rest in the median, according to Oak Creek police.

Officers arrived about 4:45 a.m. to find a totaled vehicle with no occupants. They also saw footprints of two people who had apparently headed north and away from the scene.

One of the occupants, a 22-year-old Milwaukee man, was soon discovered lying on the grass just north of the roundabout on Ace Industrial Drive. The man was "very intoxicated" but said he was uninjured save for a small scratch to his hand, according to the report.
