Woman Arrested in Illinois After Chase With OCPD

A 47-year-old Milwaukee woman was charged with a felony count of fleeing police after leading an officer on a 24-mile chase.

A 47-year-old woman who led Oak Creek police on a chase for more than 24 miles was found in Illinois and has been charged with a felony in Milwaukee County Circuit Court.

Police tried to stop Michele Hart about 2:42 a.m. Thursday after she almost caused an accident in the 1300 block of W. Ryan Road, according to a police report.

Police say Hart, of Milwaukee, led an officer on a chase southbound on 27th Street before police terminated the pursuit at 3:11 a.m.

The Lake County (Ill.) Sheriff's Office later called the Oak Creek Police Department saying it recovered the vehicle and had Hart in custody.

Hart, who is now in Milwaukee County Jail, was charged over the weekend with fleeing police. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 26.
