Woman Beaten in Possible Meth-Related Incident

Two suspects may have left the state.

Police are investigating the assault of a 41-year-old woman in a Fifth Avenue trailer park last week that may have been meth-related.

According to a police report:

She was battered and choked unconscious by her brother, a 42-year-old Oak Creek man, about 11 a.m. at the Sunshine Shores Trailer Park, 8481 S. 5th Ave. She was also kicked and punched by a 22-year-old woman from Arkansas.

The 42-year-old and 22-year-old were en route to Arkansas by the time police arrived. According to witnesses, they had with them an unknown quantity of crystal methamphetamine, which the man cooked the week before in the trailer park.

About a week earlier, the Fire Department was called on April 4 to respond to a large bonfire, allegedly started by the 42-year-old man to burn waste from the meth.

Police Chief John Edwards said investigators are still looking into the drug accusations.

Police are seeking temporary felony warrants for substantial battery and strangulation/suffocation that are extraditable anywhere in the United States.

The two suspects have not yet been charged, according to online court records. The woman is recovering from her injuries.
