Wrong-Way Driver on Drexel Interchange Arrested for DUI

Police say a 24-year-old Milwaukee man almost struck an off-duty sheriff's sergeant and several other vehicles early Sunday morning.

Police say a 24-year-old man drove the wrong way on a Drexel Interchange off-ramp and almost struck an off-duty sheriff's sergeant and several other vehicles early Sunday morning.

Gorgonio Gabriel-Dominguez drove north on the southbound off-ramp about 12:23 a.m. before making a U-turn and exiting the ramp, according to a Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office news release.

The off-duty officer continued to follow the vehicle and update dispatchers until sheriff's deputies stopped Gabriel-Dominguez in the 2000 block of W. College Ave. They arrested him for second-degree recklessly endangering safety and driving under the influence.

Gabriel-Dominguez tested .18 on a preliminary breath test, according to the news release. Officials say he faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted.
