With the presidential campaign in the home stretch, Oak Creek residents can stop by city hall to register to vote or pick up an absentee ballot application.
Residents have until Nov. 2 to register in advance of the election at city hall, 8640 S. Howell Ave. (Voters can also register at the polls on Election Day) Residents have until Oct. 17 to register by mail or at the Oak Creek Public Library.
Written requests for residents to receive an absentee ballot by mail must be received by the Oak Creek city clerk's office no later than 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1. Ballots being returned by mail must be postmarked by Election Day, Nov. 6., to be counted.
Early "absentee" voting will be held at city hall from Monday, Oct. 22 through Friday, Oct. 26 and continue Monday, Oct. 29 through Friday, Nov. 2. Hours will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
To vote in Oak Creek, people must be U.S. citizens, 18 years old on or before Election Day and reside in Oak Creek for at least 28 days prior to Election Day.
Oak Creek residents may register to vote, view voter information or change information through the Government Accountability Board website.
