Auto-Repair Facility May Be Next Addition to Howell Avenue Corridor

Building would be in empty space north of Sonic.

Tires Plus is proposing to construct a 10-bay, 8,500-square-foot building at 8051 S. Howell Ave.

Tires Plus is owned by the same parent company as Firestone. City officials and aldermen had said they liked the Firestone proposal, but just not at that location. They encouraged the company to look near the former Delphi site at Drexel and Howell, which is where this proposal is - just to the south.

The Oak Creek Plan Commission on Tuesday unanimously recommended the Common Council approve a conditional-use permit allowing the project to move forward.
