City Will Hire Owner's Rep For Library, City Hall Projects

Owner's representative will be on the ground level to monitor construction progress.

As planning for the construction of a new and progresses, the Oak Creek Common Council Tuesday night moved forward on hiring an owner's representative for the projects.

The owner's rep will be at the ground level working with architects and construction crews as those two facilities are planned and developed at the former Delphi site, 7929 S. Howell Ave.

The firm hired will be key in providing regular updates to keep the council and community informed about what's happening, city officials said.

The owner's representative will also work with the city when it decides to move forward on replacing .Β 

The council authorized the city to seek qualifications from interested firms. Between three and five applicants will be reviewed by city staff members, who will present a recommendation to the council in June. Details on the cost of hiring an owner's representative will be known then.

Planning for the two buildings will continue throughout the year. Construction is expected to start in 2013.
