College Avenue Construction Will Continue Through Summer, Fall

Road between Howell and Pennsylvania will be a four-lane boulevard when it's completed.

The extensive construction project widening College Avenue is expected to continue through November.

Work being done between Howell and Pennsylvania avenues will reconstruct the road and build additional lanes, Milwaukee County Supervisor Patricia Jursik said.Β 

Construction from Pennsylvania to Packard/Chicago avenues is focused on many smaller things. There, they plan to replace the curbs, gutters, sidewalks, signage, traffic signals, and pavement markings.

All of this work is meant to create a new roadway, with the Howell to Pennsylvania stretch becoming a four-lane boulevard, Jursik said.Β 

The work between Pennsylvania and Chicago is expected to be completed before November, while the Howell-to-Pennyslvania stretch won't be completed until the middle of November. All lanes of traffic are expected to be open by the beginning of that month.
