Concrete At Delphi Site Coming Out Early Next Year

Work is aided by a $1 million state grant and is expected to be done by the second quarter of 2013.

Work to remove the sea of asphalt at the former Delphi site is scheduled to begin next year and will be finished no later than the end of the second quarter of 2013, City Administrator Gerald Peterson said.

The city got a $1 million grant earlier this year to help pay for the concrete removal and environmental remediation.

The work is part of the preparations to develop the 85-acre site into "Drexel Town Square" β€” a sort of new downtown for Oak Creek that will include shops, housing, commercial buildings and a new library and city hall.
