Council Considers 2011 Road Projects

20th Street is the biggest item on the list.

The Common Council tonight may vote to authorize about $780,000 worth of road projects for 2011.

Most on the list, which can be found here, are relatively small and less than 1,000 feet in length.

But, certainly, they are not small to residents who live in those neighborhoods.Β

The biggest on the list is a portion of 20th Street between Rawson and College avenues. It would be resurfaced with asphalt, under the city's plans.

The list includes only local streets and not construction taking place on state highways or county roads.

The recommendations come from the engineering department, which recently conducted its annual city-wide inspection and rated the condition of each street.

The council meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at , 8640 S. Howell Ave.Β

Also tonight, the city may select Graef as the professional planning firm to help the city for the former Delphi site, 7929 S. Howell Ave.

A cost was not included in this report to Common Council members, though the report indicated it would not be funded with library impact fees and not tax dollars.Β
