Foeckler, Oak Creek Committee Members Honored

Former mayor honored in resolution passed by Common Council Tuesday night.

The Oak Creek Common Council on Tuesday night passed a resolution of appreciation for former Mayor Al Foeckler and three proclamations honoring residents for their service on city committees.

"The city of Oak Creek benefited tremendously" from the contributions of Foeckler, according to the resolution, which notes his role in the decisions involving the city hall and library location, the land exchange agreement and lakefront purchase.

The council also honored David Laehn, Linda Sodemann and Jerome Schmitt. Laehn and Sodemann served on the Celebrations Commission for a combined 16 years, while Schmitt was a nine-year member of the Board of Zoning/Housing Appeals.
