Graef Picked to Help City With Delphi, Civic Center Plan

Cost of consultant will not be paid through property tax money.

The city has picked the national consultant Graef to help draw up plans for the future of the old Delphi site.

The firm has worked on a wide range of projects, including public infrastructure, government facilities, health care and education, according to its website. Graef has offices in Wisconsin, Chicago and Florida.

One of the plans for the old Delphi site, 7929 S. Howell Ave., is expected to include a new Civic Center (combination City Hall and public library). Another plan will be created without a new Civic Center.

The cost for Graef's services is $24,544, City Administrator Gerald Peterson said. It will be paid for through library impact fees and not property tax dollars.

Graef's recommendation came after to the Oak Creek Plan Commission. Plan Commissioners ranked each firm based on their presentation and written proposals.

Aldermen said they were impressed with Graef and look forward to seeing the plans it puts forward. Mayor Dick Bolender called it a "step in the right direction."
