Love's Expansion, Dog Day Care Get Commission OK

Both proposals poised to come to fruition.

An expansion at Love's Travel Stop and a dog day care on 6th Street both received unanimous Oak Creek Plan Commission approval Tuesday night and appear on their way to becoming reality.

The proposals still need final approval from the Common Council. That looks likely, given city officials and Plan Commissioners have few concerns.Β

Love's Travel Stop, 9650 S. 20th St., wants to build a small building on its property for tire repair and roadside assistance. About 75 percent of the business would be servicing broken-down trucks on the freeway, company representative Frank Ille said.

The cabin-themed day care would be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.Β Camp Bow Wow also offers overnight boarding services.Β

City officials say they have received no complaints about two similar businesses exist in Oak Creek and don't expect any from Camp Bow Wow, as it would not be near a residential area.
