Many Oak Creek Officials Up For Re-Election in April

Election will be held April 3, 2012.

The promises to have the highest profile, but several other local offices will also be on the ballot in April.

Three aldermanic positions, two School Board positions and the city clerk, treasurer and municipal judge will all be decided by Oak Creek residents on April 3, 2012.

Anyone wanting more information on how to get their names on the ballot should stop by , 8640 S. Howell Ave., for municipal races and the , 7630 S. 10th St., for the School Board race.

Today, Dec. 1, marks the first day candidates can begin circulating nomination papers.

Aldermanic races

Aldermen Dan Bukiewicz, Michael Toman and Tom Michalski will face re-election in the spring. Aldermen are elected to two-year terms at annual salary of $7,200; the council president makes $8,400.

Bukiewicz represents District 2, on the northwest side of the city. He has registered his re-election campaign with the clerk's office, Acting City Clerk Christa Miller said.

Toman represents District 4, which encompasses the east side of Oak Creek.

Michalski represents District 6, the southwest side of Oak Creek. He also has registered his campaign with the clerk's office, Miller said.

Other municipal offices

The city clerk and treasurer are each elected to three-year terms at a salary of $71,400, plus a $150-per month car allowance.

The clerk position is vacant due to . No one has registered a campaign yet though two residents - Suzette Emmer and Leann Launstein - have pulled papers.

The treasurer position is held by Barbara Guckenberger, who has registered her campaign.

The municipal judge, meanwhile, is elected to a four-year term at an annual salary of $16,323.

The incumbent judge is Alice Rudebusch, who has registered her campaign for re-election.

Oak Creek-Franklin School Board

In addition to the municipal races, two School Board positions will be on the ballot.

Those spots are currently held by Kathleen Borchardt and Brian Kaminski, who filled the vacancy left by the resignation of Jim Gilmeister.

School Board members are elected to three-year terms and receive $420 per month.
