New Police Department Position Cuts OT Costs

Court liaison position also puts another police officer on the streets.

The city has created the position of part-time court liaison officer in an effort to cut down on police overtime.

As it stands now, a police officer is assigned to the role of court liaison. Officials say creating a new part-time position saves Oak Creek about $35,000, as well as puts another police officer on the streets.  

The position, which will be held by a retired officer, will draw an annual salary of $14,332.
