New Roof Ordered For Oak Creek Fire Station

Council delays plans to replace fire station on Oakwood Road.

Oak Creek will spend $102,000 to replace the roof on the south-side fire station and put off replacing the facility.

, at 3950 E. Oakwood Road, has the same roof that was installed when the building was constructed in 1962, according to a report to council members.

The Oak Creek Common Council unanimously chose to move forward with replacing the roof and delayed indefinitely plans to build a new station.

This is not to be confused with , 240 E. Puetz Road. The city still plans to eventually replace that facility with a new one at 255 E. Centennial Drive, across from the post office. No timetable has been set; discussions have quieted as the focus shifts toward redeveloping the lakefront and Delphi site.
