Oak Creek Officials Won't Be Involved with Supreme Court Recount

City clerk expects state would handle entire process.

Oak Creek City Clerk Pam Bauer said she does not expect the clerk's office will be involved in a Wisconsin Supreme Court election recount.

The city has delivered all ballots cast in Oak Creek to Milwaukee County officials, Bauer said. She added that she has spoken with Wisconsin election officials and believes the state would handle the entire recount process. In other words, municipal officials would not count their community's ballots again.

A recount in the Supreme Court race is widely expected after Joanne Kloppenburg defeated David Prosser by just 204 votes, according to an Associated Press count.
