Oak Creek Retains Consultants for Delphi, Lakefront Developments

JJR, Graef help city identify grant money to offset costs, officials say.

Consultants hired by the city to assist in the Delphi and lakefront redevelopment projects will continue their services for at least another year.

The Common Council on Tuesday voted unanimously to approve an agreement with JJR, which has been working on lakefront redevelopment plans, as well as with Graef, which has assisted in the Delphi project.

The agreement with JJR calls for a lump sum payment of $23,500 with additional costs between $15,000 and $25,000. Costs for Graef's services are expected to be between $25,000 and $50,000.

The consultants have worked hard to identify grant money available that helps offset redevelopment costs, City Administrator Gerald Peterson said. In each case, city officials believe the grants received will pay back the city's investment many times over.

The city is also happy with both consultants and did not want to start from scratch with someone else, Peterson said.
