Packed House Expected for Paul Ryan's Oak Creek Listening Session Thursday

The crowd may be a mix of opponents and supporters.

Heading to Paul Ryan's on Thursday?

You might want to get there early.

Ryan has been traveling around his southeastern Wisconsin district the last several days holding the same type of town hall-style meeting that will take place in Oak Creek at 1:30 p.m. Thursday.

Several meetings have been moved to larger venues to accommodate the crowds. A standing room-only audience has shown up at most of his visits, including yesterday in Lake Geneva, as the Associated Press reported

That scene will likely repeat itself tomorrow in the courtroom inside the police station, 301 W. Ryan Road.

According to news accounts, Ryan begins each meeting with a 15- to 20-minute PowerPoint presentation, and then opens the floor for comments and questions. Thursday's meeting is scheduled to last one hour.

What kind of dialogue should attendees expect? You would think that given Oak Creek's status as a , it would be quite friendly.

But you never know what might happen. Ryan was actually booed last week in a meeting in Elkhorn, and some voters in his district are queasy about his proposal for Medicare and other parts of his highly-touted budget plan.

It's also seems likely that Democratic-leaning people, both from Oak Creek and out of town, will make a point to attend the hearing, too.

But no matter what happens, it's hard to imagine tomorrow being boring.
