Paul Ryan Schedules Oak Creek Listening Session

Congressman will visit the Oak Creek Police Department on April 28.

Have something you want to get off your chest to U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan?

Ryan will host a listening session from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. April 28 at the Oak Creek Police Department, 301 W. Ryan Road.

According to a statement from his office, he plans to discuss how to overcome the economic challenges facing his district.

"It's very important to me to hear directly from those who live and work in the First District," he said in the statement. "In addition to talking about these issues and many others, I am looking forward to having a conversation about how Congress can reduce our $14 trillion debt, rein in out of control spending, and put in a place a plan for economic growth and job creation."

The meeting will likely draw a huge audience, as it comes at a time when Ryan's national profile has never been higher. The U.S. House of Representatives today is widely expected to pass Ryan's controversial budget plan, which would reform spending, tax and entitlement programs. The proposal will likely die in the Democratic-controlled Senate, however.
