The congressman spoke with employees at Nordco in a stop Monday.

U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan toured Oak Creek-based Nordco in a visit to the community on Monday.

While there, Ryan spoke with Nordco employees to "learn more about their contributions to our economy," Ryan's press secretary Kevin Seifert said.

"It was a productive conversation and Congressman Ryan appreciated the hospitality from those at Nordco," Seifert said in an e-mail.

Oak Creek Mayor Steve Scaffidi accompanied Ryan on the tour.

Nordco, 245 W. Forest Hill Ave., manufactures railroad-related products and services. The company's headquarters are in Oak Creek, with other facilities in Missouri, Illinois and Connecticut.

Nordo was recently sold to a New York-based firm.
