Scaffidi Is Acting Oak Creek Mayor

The joint Delphi redevelopment meeting scheduled for Dec. 19 is now off.

In the wake of Mayor Dick Bolender's , Common Council President Steve Scaffidi has taken over as acting mayor until the council meets on Dec. 20, when aldermen will decide how they will move forward.

Scaffidi said the council has a couple of options to discuss before adopting an interim plan, which will be in place until the April elections.

"It's a temporary title," Scaffidi said of acting mayor, "and whatever the council wants to do going forward will be their decision."

It's possible that Scaffidi, who for the seat, could remain acting mayor through April.

Oak Creek officials have also decided to cancel most city government public meetings over the next seven days, including the with the Oak Creek-Franklin School District Dec. 19. It was unknown if and when those meetings will be made up.
